A review of someone who hasn't watched offroad racing ever. First Sim. racing I liked.
Gameplay:
Just perfect, you can oversteer at first but soon you'll get a hang of it, after that it is just plain fun. Tracks are smartly laid out and dont seem to get old at all. Tourneys are great, the X Games are challenging, rally's are addictive and the AI is smart. Lots of races and challenges by other co-racers. Flashbacks do take away the realism, but gives better stuff in return i.e Reduces Frustration.
Not much car customization, which is a bad point for this game...you can change the vinyls on the car, and upgrade your car in packs, but you cannot do detailed customization.
Presentation:
Full Marks on Presentation, this game sets a benchmark for other games. It is just smartly done, the menus, loading screens, in game music, and transitions between them is perfect. Feels like you are playing the game for fun whilst not caring about completion.
Graphics:
Still kicks a$$ of the Shift 2 that was released few days ago. Beautiful environments, highly detailed cars, night lighting is awesome.
Summary:
I have never seen offroad racing, yet this game is one of the best racing games I've ever played. "Amazing" describes it in one word.
