It's so good that there should be a remake.
It may be hard in the beginning, but when you get knowledge about the gameplay, i'll become easier. You start as a kid with only one digimon partner. You have to train it, giving it specific stats to make it evolve. The evolution differs from Digimon to Digimon and stats to stats. Just don't fall in the trap and get Numemon or Sukamon!
But the game isn't just about training your Digimon up to evolve; you have to rescue the island. The island is falling apart, so you need to recruit and gather the Digimons to the city. The city will grow, and give you more opportunities like fighting in an arena, buy better stuff and go curling. You have to find the recruitable Digimons over the whole island, so you have much exploring to do and thus making it more exciting, fun and enjoyable.
