User Rating: 5 | Dig Dug: Digging Strike DS
Everybody knows that Dig Dug was one of the greatest games to hit the arcades. In 2005, Namco decided to release Dig Dug: Digging Strike for the DS.

The presentation is seriously lacking because there aren't that many modes to back it up. There's a multiplayer mode, but both you and your friend needs a copy to play against each other. Also, there are options and a very short story mode. In story mode, your objective is to get rid of the enemies by using Taizo's weapons, and make the boss fall into the water. There are large poles that can trigger/alter the small island. Once you bring all of the poles down by killing the enemies, then the boss will be automatically defeated. There are about a total of twelve stages on easy and medium difficulty.

The graphics are bright and colorful for the most part. There are no signs of any glitches or frame rate issues whatsoever. They are basically well animated and partially detailed.

The music is a combination of classic and new Dig-Dug music. The new school music sounds somewhat similar to the classical theme music, and they sound pretty cool for the most part. The sound effects were very similar to the classic Dig-Dug sound effects.

The controls are still tight and responsive. However, there levels are somewhat cluttered, and there are way too many enemies in the way. There are several power-ups that make you temporary invincible.

The overall game is just way too short, and the multiplayer modes are extremely limited. In order to play with a friend, that person needs a second copy of Dig Dug: Digging Strike.

the good- music and graphics are decent enough

the bad- not enough modes, requires multiple copies to play two players, gameplay feels a bit too cluttered
