Devil May Flop... Bad sequal to such a spectacular beginning.

I'll keep this review short. DMC 2 is a pretty big let down from the first. Everything just seems one notch lower from the first, from graphics, to control and movement. Even the story is just weak and medicore. Over and over it is hack and slash with little appeal to do combinations or strive to high insane ratings instead it becomes more and more inane and pointless to continue since the story is pretty easy to predict and overall beat the game.
bottom line:
Medicore at best, descent game play, sub par on the standard that the original DMC set. Thank god DMC 3 was a major lift for the series that seems to have ensured it will continue the series and a good one at that, DMC 2 is just a bump in the road that is DMC.
