Still A Worthy Adaption Of The PC Masterpiece

User Rating: 8 | Deus Ex: The Conspiracy PS2

Why they didn't just make this one for the Xbox I'll never know. Despite the constant loading screens and sometimes way-too-linear environments as well as a few glitches here and there lies a game that is very well done and though it doesn't quite live up to its PC counterpart, Deus Ex: The Conspiracy is still a game worthy of owning. However, many things that helped define the original PC version, in my own personal opinion, are really dumbed down for this port. The environments have all been dumbed down which leads to less gameplay options, and in turn leads to less choices to be made. Don't get me wrong, Deus Ex: The Conspiracy is still a very good game and like I said in the review's title "still a worthy adaption of the PC masterpiece". But I still think that it could have been a lot more. Overall, despite being a bit of a let down when compared to the PC juggernaut that it succeeds, and some technical/design flaws, Deus Ex: The Conspiracy is still the best and only way for console gamers to get a taste of the masterpiece that defined interactive story telling as well as the innovative, genre-pushing heights that a game could reach.

Verdict: 8/10
