I didn't play the first Deus Ex. I heard it was a really good & unique FPS. I then picked up Invisible War and I was instantly pulled into the Deus Ex universe. Right from the beginning, you will notice this is not your normal FPS. It's more of a RPG than anything else. And that unique style is it's biggest calling card. Sure, the flat-out action isn't the best in the genre. But the action is fun and you add in a bunch of RPG elements, and you have a great idea for a game. The story here is another strong point. It's not the usual 'big marine going into alien base alone' type of plot. I won't give anything away, but it's a very complex plot with government organizations and such. I was kept interested throughout the whole game. The graphics & sound are very nice. The visuals will not blow you away, but you won't be disappointed either. The music is very good. And the voice acting HAD to be good since there was so much spoken dialogue in the game. Another high point for this underrated game. I just thought this game was great. It had a few annoying points in it where I was begging for a save point. But what game doesn't have that these days? With Deus Ex you get a great FPS/RPG, a unique gameplay experience, and a interesting story. I can definately recommend this game.
