Maybe the hardest game you'll encounter, but can be very rewarding making you want to come back for more.

It can be hard to find game to be really hard these days pending on what game your playing. Demon's Souls however is quite well be one of the hardest games you've encounter through your gaming years and of course this is a thrid-person action/RPG game.

Story is set in a dark fantasy world, players take control of a custom hero who has journeyed to the fictional kingdom of Boletaria, which is being ravaged by an accursed fog that brings forth demons that feast on the souls of mortals. You create your own charcter and which class you want your charcter to be such as Knight, Magician, Warrior or Thief.

Gameplay: Which ever class you've picked for your own charcter, you'll be thrown into a world as you progress wondering around an area of each world you'll find a key or a switch to open a door or a path which will lead you to a boss. If you defeat that boss you'll get a Demon Soul which can either be kept or later on in the game you can exchange the Demon's Souls for Magic and defence spells. The more you play Demon's Souls you'll be able to access more worlds which you can enter at anytime you want; when I say this game is hard, I mean it is hard.

You'll experince alot of times getting killed, if you die you lose your souls you've collected you can't store those souls into bank you can either spend them for weapons items and skills or save them for later. But after you die and lose your souls you can go back to the place you died and pick em up but if you do die again or not close those souls will be gone forever. If your planning on going deeper and deeper through each world its mainly timing and patience if you keep an eye on enemy attacks and moves you should be able to get through Demon's Souls in one piece.

You'll also see ghosts and bloodstains of other players playing Demon's Souls this gives you an idea on what lies ahead or see's the player last moments before they died. Players can also write messeges or hints giving other players advice, if you have trouble you can either summon or enter another player's world and give them a hand. But you've also got the option to invade other players world and try to kill them.

Graphics and Sound: What you'll really like about Demon's Souls is how well done the game setting is and each of the 5 worlds you'll visit have a different setting from the Boletaria Kingdom to the dark swamps of Valley of Defilement which are filled with deadly poisons and diseases or the mines of Stonefang tunnels. There are tons of traps and surprises filled almost every place you visit, its pretty impressive how an RPG game would look on the Playstation 3. However pending on what equipment and armor your using you might not roll or dodge as quick as you should but if you have lighter equipment you'll be able to move faster.

But you do need heavy equipment and armor if you want to keep your defences and attacks up, however the camera can be a little fiddly especially when it comes to boss battles you can't see where your attacking or there's a building or stature blocking the camera. There some hilariously bad voice performances aside where most voice acting is Medieval accents, there's plenty of sound effects and an excellent soundtrack.

Overall: This isn't a game for everyone to have in their PS3 collection due to how hard the game is in general but however Demon's Souls can be a very rewarding this game is. Do note that its online service will be closing down by the end of May 2012 but its still a game worth checking out with trophy support added and trying clear Demon's Souls on your first playthrough can take you at least 60 hours or more pending on how much you want out of it.
