Lets not get carried away..

Its simply not as bad as several people have reviewed it. It really makes me wonder if any of these people have actually played it ?

This is the first game Novalogic has produced in well over 5 years ! So maybe they are a little rusty.

Are there minor problems with the game ? Yes

Some graphical glitches, limited maps, laggy movements, poor stock maps, and probably cheaters* (remains to be seen.. novalogic has a history of not continuing to work to keep their games free of cheats)

Will the problems get fixed ? No / probably not

Novalogic also has a track record of NOT fixing issues.. maybe an expansion pack giving players all the more of the wrong things rather than correcting their issues.. but thats another story.

So with all this said.. whats good about it ? Its still a novalogic game. If you ever enjoyed playing any of the DF games you'll like this. Many of the old terrains have returned with upgraded graphics.

And..

Least we forget Novalogic's map editor. Using the map editor you will be able to create any type of map you want using all the items from as far back as their Black Hawk Down game to new items in DFX2. This allows for quite an extensive long life for the game. While Novalogic's own stock maps for DFX2 maybe lacking.. you can recreate any of your favorite DF maps or make new ones ! This isn't one of the Battlefield or Call of Duty cookie cutted games !

Personally, I do wish the game was more like their Black Hawk Down game play and less like DFX2 with JO graphics.

Lastly.. lets also keep in mind the original DFX was priced at $19.99 , DFX2 which is much larger scaled than DFX is modestly priced at $29.99 (a little cheaper off steam and amazon). Is that such a huge price for a game that can play on for years, and has open customizability ?
