Right off the bat, Defiance has pulled me in from just the story, art direction, early videos. It was worth every penny I spent on it so far. I freakin love it. Its a MMO, but just enough different to make it feel fresh and unique. I'll keep it short for you guys. Ive played games for 30+ years. From the Atari to nowadyas, so Ive been around the block with games. Like I said in my review deck, it is a mixture of Fallout, Borderlands, RAGE, a little of Halo, but theres something fresh about this game, and just pure fun about Defiance. First the graphics on PC look fantastic. Im running a GTX580, 4 gigs of RAM and a quad core CPU and it runs silky smooth. I will say this, I use a XBOX 360 controller for this game, for one, I like the controller, and 2, the action is REALLY fast paced in Defiance. Here is maybe a glimpse why I like it, and you decide if its something you might enjoy. I created a girl soldier, good with assault rifles, pistols and sniper rifles. I choose my special power "cloak", I can go invisible for about 15 seconds. When Im doing a mission, I get my sniper rifle out, crouch down, and sit on top of a ridge, and start sniping. Then when I start getting rushed by baddies, pull out the assault rifle and grenades. Or I cloak, slip in undetected, with my assault rifle and start taking out the big baddies first. Plus you can be just driving around (you get a vehicle right away preety much,) and you'll run across missions out in the middle of nowhere. THAT is awesome. The world/art style/ enemies you fight/ pulled me in right off the bat. Theres also no levels, you gain a EGO rating to show your progress. As a side note, there are missions called Episode missions. There are characters that you do missions with, then on the T.V. show, they will make mention of te missions you did with them. Then I think after a show airs on TV, it will have missions in the game that correspond to the show. Hard to explain, but I think thats pretty innovative. Bottom line is this....Ive played TONS of MMO's, and Defiance is up there in my top 3 Ive ever played. Give it a shot, I dont think you'll regret it a bit. :)
