A solid and surprisingly immersive tower defense title that should satisfy all fans of the genre.
The title is surprisingly well-polished, combining wonderful map design, a beautiful soundtrack, and rock solid gameplay. This isn't the best defense game I have played, but it is absolutely one of the most satisfying.
The campaign is very long, and provides at least 20 hours of gameplay. Beyond that, there are a host of alternative play types that each map features once you've defeated it. As a result, this title packs a huge amount of replay into a very small package.
Gameplay is what one has come to expect of the genre... various towers perform attacks against differing aliens with varying degrees of effectivenss. Upgrades reflect graphically on both the towers and the damage effects.
Special mention goes to the wonderfully voiced AI who guides you through the game. While the plot is thin, his dazed ramblings at the beginning of each mission harken back to a long lost war that add quite a bit of feel to the whole affair.
Anyone who is into strategy games should download this game and give it a shot. While it isn't the game of the year, it most certainly is a promising entry in a crowded batch of tower games. The demo is free... check it out!
