Paid Full Retail For This One.....
However, "Simple movements and reptitive action" have never been used to describe Defender. The arcade version used separate controls for movement, thrust, firing, smart bombs and hyperspace. This control layout did not translate very well on the 2600 and its one button joystick.
The gameplay is surprisingly good, and this is where I thought the 2600 always shined. I mark it down to 7.0 based mainly on its retail price at the time, and the clumsiness of the controls. As part of a "greatest hits" package, it is worth a look.
