I review many games, and on this one I say:"Its different, give it a try!"

Firstly this is a different sought of game that allows the player to only see the scene from the side, like a Miniclip flash game except way better.

The story is the same-old-same-old and really nothing new at all, in fact many apocalyptic zombie games and films revolve around such stories as this. Without spoiling it for anyone it is basically a protagonist searching for his family after Seattle and the world fall to a zombie outbreak, the protagonist is also venturing with some "survivor friends" but he is sidetracked and they go ahead without him. Your main aims is basically to find your family, rescue your friends and get to a promised safe-point.

The game itself is fun, the 3D environment goes well with the 2D look of it. Your embark on a great journey/adventure which leads you through many places from hotels, garages, dumps, sewers and so forth - it all looks really good and goes well together on delivering the apocalyptic experience.

Combat is passable, you have a few weapons from a gun to an axe, nothing special. Zombies themselves provide a good challenge as you have to be on your feet most of the time. For example, you can whistle or yell in the game to attract zombies from surrounding environments to you and leap over them from a height or lure them into loose electrical wiring to fry them.

There are puzzles to solve in the environment in order to progress, generally they are easy but require quite a bit of trial and error, so you will die often. The sewer puzzles were a little annoying as you had to time jumps, rolls, and slides correctly to pass.

The bottom-line:

Deadlight is certainly enjoyable, its well made, and its different. I recommend that every gamer should give it a go. The campaign is short but its fun nevertheless!
