Easily the best game for action/horror of this generation. No moment left the player feeling safe nor ten seconds from having to change pants. For one thing the game constantly put the player in situations that were obviously disadvantagous which brings a sense of fear, the game allowed for the players gear to be constantly upgraded or resupplied however their were moments on hard where the player could have fear when low on equipment. The aliens/creatures also were terrorrifc (corny, I know) having to be torn limb from limb and twisted beyond belief. The creatures were also never extremely weak and constantly swarming to give the player a sense of control and power. If you haven't gotten through the game without one fearful moment then your blind, the fact is their isn't many games that went after the player psychologically as Dead Space which is why it succeeds.
