Resident Evil but in space.
Story
You take the role of Isaac Clarke who is on a space station with other members of his team and they are set to investigate and but what they don't realise is what is happening on the ship. Monsters known as Necormorphs are out to get you.
Gameplay
You are the silent hero Isaac Clarke and have to do certain objectives to move on in the game. What makes it easy to learn is you always have a map pinpointing the direction you need to go so you are not gonna get lost.
As you travel through Ishmura spacestation you shall be able to find weapons capable of blowing up tough Necomorphs and new armour as well to withstand less damage and more storage space. To get new items you must collect things called Schematics to open new items at the shop. At the shop there is a Safe similar to RE2 Safe where you can store firepower and weapons and medi kits if you don't feel like using them.
The range of guns varies from a Pulse Rifle a Machine Gun type of weapon,Plasma Cutter like a pistol,Flamethrower,Ripper, Force Gun which is like a Shotgun and a Charge gun. They can be upgraded by collecting things known as Power Nodes which can be traded for more destructive weapons. You can hold 4 guns altogether in this game which is good. You do have melee attacks such as a punch and stomp.
In the game you have something called Statis which slows an enemies movement and gives you a better chance to attack and take off their legs which is mainly a weakspot. Also there is one called Kinesis which moves objects ad they are key to solving puzzles later in the game but you can also pick up canisters and blast them at enemeis in the game.
You shall also enter a thing called zero gravity where you walk across certain walls in the effort of getting somewhere and doing a puzzle. Also there is times when you have to watch your air meter in out space because if you run out of time you die. Elsewhere you will man cannons in the hope of destroying large creatures.
All the Necormorphs aren't the same. Slashers are the most ocurring enemies,Lurkers fire bullets at you and one called Pregnants have a big belly that if you destroy it will open an army of little insects and they can be the worst. They are the most occuring but expect some tougher enemies than that I am just giving a few examples.
Any negatives well probably that the main character is silent and maybe some people might be put off by that but it isn't a big problem. Sometimes people perfer silent heroes. I also have to say sometimes there can be to many enemies to focus on at once and some are a pain to kill.
Prsentation
It looks incredible from the character model to the overall setting. It's dark tense and at times creepy. You just don't know what could be lurking around the corner. It really captures the feeling of what it is like in space lonely and at times scary with about 5 monsters attacking you at once. I think it starts out nicely and then builds up the tension quiet nicely.
Lastability
12 chapters altogether most are about 1 hour long so I'd say about 12 hours of playtime at most nut you will play it again.
Overall Opinion
It is an amazing game that i would highly recommend it has a nice shoot and run system and plays just like Resident Evil 4. Excellent pacing at times and some incredible parts that keep you on your toes. In Space no one can hear you scream but this will be of joy. Get it if you haven't already.
