I know this game came out awhile ago, but I want to say this game was worth buying!
At first it started off rocky due to the controls and it being hard to kill some of the monsters because of it. The more you play the more you got used to the controls, but you do notice the low sensitivity in the mouse even when you set it high. The buttons are mostly the same as any other game for the PC when it comes to shooters, and like I said you'll get used to them the more you play.
The story is great, I am the type who really enjoys a good story line when it comes to games and playing this I'd say it tells an amazing story.
You are Isaac Clack and, your main story is pretty much survival and finding a way to get out of the space ship that you are stationed at. Throughout the game you have no allies but you are trying to rendezvous with Kendra, and Hammond who were with you in the beginning. Also in the game you look for Nicole who her and Isaac had a past relationship with, but split apart, and now she is sending him messages wanting him to help save her.
Throughout the game you take on a variety of mutants which can me a pain in the you know what when it comes to fighting them. Fighting one or two of them is fine, but sometimes fighting 4 can be very stressful. While killing one can be simple, the combat isn't that amazing where you can take on four of them no problem you have to use a little bit of strategy when it comes to fighting them.
A little heads up when it comes to survival horrors is to make sure you have enough supplies! In this game you will run out of supplies of med-kits and ammo for you which could lead you into some troubles in the future. Luckily there are shops in the game which there isn't that many so stock up as you can when you find the nearest one.
A good addition is "power nodes" which can upgrade your weapons, and armor. This can be very helpful when you want to upgrade your guns power, or capacity. But there are also doors which you can unlock by sacrificing a power node which can be rewarding if you do.
In conclusion I really enjoyed this game, and I was glad I got this with Dead Space 2 for $9.99 because that was a deal! I definitely recommend this game for anyone who wants to try out a new series and a good shooter that has some scare into it.
