"Dead Space Ignition" is, as of so far, the worst arcade game I've ever played on XBOX Live.
I received the code for this arcade game from a friend because he knew I had purchased "Dead Space 2" and was aware of the costume unlock that "Ignition" comes with. However, I was not aware of how absolutely terrible this arcade game was before enduring it to obtain that Dead Space 2 content.
Firstly, the voice acting is horrendous. It's almost like the first Resident Evil game had a voice acting child and it sounded only half as bad. Secondly, the characters just are not that interesting There's no depth added to them and then the developers decided to throw in some ridiculously inane "romance" plot mechanic. It's meaningless. Thirdly, the minigames are ridiculous. Some of them are quite difficult but not a "positive" kind of difficult. Some of these games are difficult because they're broken, mainly the "Trace Route" minigame.
It doesn't help that you can beat the game in less than an hour. It's incredibly short and the paths you can "choose" don't even come to mind because trying to survive a single play through of this mess is straining enough, let alone going back to go down the path you didn't take so you can witness more of what could be the worst gaming experience of your life.
Actually, I hail it's short length. It "shortens" the suffering you have to undergo. I was honestly almost unhappy with the content because of what I had to trudge through to get it. However, it was a decent costume so it redeemed the abomination I had just played but only by a very minuscule margin.
