A Cool And Fun Horror,With A Variety Of Enemies And Weapons To Make It Fun.
lets start this review with the graphics in dead space 2,i gotta good feeling about the graphics im not sure what the engine is but to me it looks very nice,you can clearly see the dynamic lights and it looks amazing,the bad thing is that the guys who made the game thought it would actually be more scary in dark,so they made 70% of the game in a darken areas.the textures look superb,also the rendering of the scenes are amazing too.
the designs in the game,from the small bumps to the massive architects look good,the costumes that you buy at the shop look wonderful,a complete copy from iron man.:)
the weapons:
you have a wide range of weapons in the game,i think if you play the story once you wont be able to try all the weapons since they become available in the shop,very easy and quickly,and you wont be able to buy the all, at least in the first try of the game.
there are about 10 weapons to unlock in which you can only choose 4 to carry with you at the sametime.as for the ammunition you can get them by looting the monsters by stomping them or simply shoot them until the gave something in return.some of the weapons are very unique and amazing to use for example the chainsaw thing is amazingly fun,there are two ways to use your weapons in the game, 1st you can aim and fire the second thing you can do is to use the button it says to either throw something with your gun or bring something extra to that specific gun that you are using. each weapon offers something special.
you also have the kinesis,this means you can levitate objects around the game for example sharp thing and be able to throw them and use them as deadly weapons.with this ability you can also bring objects that are not near you,to your reach.
the gameplay:
the game is actually very good,there are tons of things you can do,you can punch with the any weapons at hand you can stomp enemies,you can use kinesis,you can aim with any weapons,you can also upgrade your weapons to use its full potential.
in the game you can use a stasis ability to slow down time which is very helpful in the long run and against the very fast enemies.
you can also walk or run throughout the game,it feels very real to move around the game and you can feel the weight of the iron suit that the main character is wearing which is very amusing.
i think that some puzzles are a bit difficult simply because you dont know enough about the abilities you have and what you can do with them such as the kinesis.
altogether:
i think deadspace 2 is a very good game for those who like horror,but i have to say it wasnt ment to be that scary i think,the game has 2 DVDs for xbox360 which is very good,shows how long the story can be.it is for sure worth playing this game.the weapons make it very fun,also the story is very good,and to some extend unique i may say.
enemies have a lot of varieties,also the scenes match the enemies that you see for the first time.you will have to die a few times to learn the concept of some enemies.another good credit goes for the ability to show you the way with a blue line,which is very very useful indeed.
i give it an 8 out of 10.
