Welcome to Dead Nation

User Rating: 8 | Dead Nation PS3
Welcome to Dead Nation where hordes of zombies approach from all sides and you get torn to pieces if you don't act wise. Now that we started on such a high note, let's get down to it, shall we?

PROS:
This is extremely fun as a forewarning and you will have the urge to play until you finish all of the levels. There's nothing more fun than an arcade version of Left 4 Dead with a lot more zombies! As you advance, the levels get tougher and the hordes grow larger. There are also the bigger guys/mini-bosses who can give you a pain in the ass later in the game. Trust me, if you want a hell of a challenge, you start the game on Normal and start chopping off limbs. If you do start it out on Normal, you will have to plan strategies and tactics to get past a group and, like I said, later on, it's going to be a pain in the butt. On easy, it's plain fun to mop down hordes in full-fledged high-octane action as you mow the crowd down. Also, you can get a friend to join you in co-op or just look for a player online and the game will decrease in difficulty, although still difficult, but fun.

CONS:
Aside from the fun gameplay, the game really doesn't offer a great memorable story, but then again, it's a typical zombie game. So, what could you expect? There is story told between the levels, but not good enough for a memorable story. In the end, this game is really not about the story, but about intense action and fun gameplay. Also, I wish they put in a larger variety of weapons. You probably only get a total of 6 or 7 guns throughout the whole game. I would've preferred a chainsaw or a melee weapon. By the end, I bought nearly all of the weapons and nearly upgraded them to the max. So, I think they should've provided us with more choices and that would make the experience more fun.

THE VERDICT:
Well, if you're the kind of gamer who doesn't mind skipping on story for a game and just enjoying it for its' gameplay, then I recommend this game for you, because you're going to have a lot of fun playing it. I know I did. If you don't have Left 4 Dead and you have a PS3, just check this game out and you will be provided with the same amount of fun. I hope to see a sequel from this one day. So, aside from the story and lack of variety, this game deserves a buy. The treasures throughout and later difficulties offer some replayability value. Once again, if you're a zombie games fan, you won't regret the buy.
