Jak's fellow sidekick finally gets his own game.

If you've played previous games in the series such as Jak and Daxter, Jak 2 and Jak 3, you will have noticed that the cute little half otter half weasel barely got any attention. Sure he might have gotten a few laughs out of people but now he has his own game and it's time to show the world who's the boss around here.

The story follows after the events of the previous two Jak games. Jak has gone into prison which was kind of mentioned in Jak 2. His best friend Daxter, however, wasn't imprisoned so now it's his turn to save the day. Daxter works as an exterminator now getting rid of bugs all across Haven City hoping to find some clues on the whereabouts of his trusted companion Jak. So now, armed with a fly swatter and many other dangerous weapons, Daxter is going to have to climb, swat, and poison his way through Haven City to find his best friend.

The graphics in this game are pretty good. It's not really what you'd expect from most PSP games nowadays. The environment looks really good and it's extremely detailed, however the bugs that you'll fight won't look as detailed as you'd hope them to be.

The sound in this game is kind of half and half. The voice-overs are really good but the music is bad and repetitive. They could've at least made the songs less repetitive and actually good rather than making them sound like a broken record. Songs are bad and really repetitive but the voice-overs are pretty good.

The gameplay is good although the camera angles aren't really that well. The camera will frequently get in the way and you'll have a tough time completing most missions. And you'll have somewhat of a hard time getting used to the controls if you've been playing mostly the PS2 versions.

The game is pretty good in terms of game play and all but really it's the sound that was quite annoying as well as camera angles. Some areas of the game can be really annoying to pass but you'll just have to get used to it. If you are not used to the PSP controls, the game will prove to be quite difficult for the first few minutes, but will eventually get better. Daxter is a great game with some flaws in it, but it's definitely worth every penny.
