Hearts of Iron 2 was a good game...Darkest Hour makes it into a great game

Cleaning up a lot of the minor problems and adding some very nice content, Darkest Hour makes HoI2 into the game it should have been from the beginning. If you are a fan of HoI2 and haven't tried it yet, do it. The added content, like the ability to go back and fight WW1 and an endgame that can stretch all the way to 1961, is such a great set of additions that I haven't even tried to play HoI2 since I picked up DH. The changes to the map help to add more depth and the wealth of options available to you, no matter which country you decide to play, only expands the options available to you to rewrite history.

I have played Germany, Austria-Hungary and Russia in the 1914 scenario and found them all to be uniquely challenging.

For the 1933 start, I have played Germany, Italy, USSR, France, US, Great Britain and Argentina. Each was very satisfying even though I was trounced by the AI, especially when I joined the Axis as Argentina.
