a very good but short

As we all know Dante's inferno drew a lot of its inspiration from the brilliant God of War games. But this is a great game on its own and I had a blast playing through it.

The story starts off with Dante coming home and finding his wife, Beatrice, and father murdered. Beatrice's spirit is then taken down to hell and Dante goes chasing after her. The story then develops nicely and we get to really know about Dante and his family. It's great motivation as you want to continue the game and find out more about this interesting character.

The setting and enemies are wonderful and one of the highlights of DI. Boss fights are fun and challenging. The amount of different enemies and the different strategies required to defeat them keep combat interesting and far from ever feeling repetitive. Using the cross as a projectile is also a necessary weapon and one which is fun to use. The upgrade system is also well done. The different mana(magic) abilities require strategic use, but they are fun to use as well.

Each of the nine circles of hell have a distinctive look and layout. Whether its a cloudy tower in lust or creepy woods in violence each level has a distinctive look, except Fraud which is quite plain.

The DLC for this game, Dark Forest, is a prequel level. It feels a bit rushed and doesnt add much to the story but for a big fan of the game it was worth the 400 points($5).

The bottom line is this game is fun. The story is immersive and combat is aggressive and fun. The musical score is also epic. This is a great hack-n-slash game that any action game fan(or anybody that likes a satisfying gameplay experience) should pick up.
