Dante's Inferno is very much like God of War, in the aspect of gameplay, combat system and a bit more. However where Dante's Inferno stands out, is the attempt to follow through with the poem "The Divine Comedy", which is about Dante losing his wife to the nine circles of hell, and his travels to get her back.

some might think "Yeeah.. We've seen that.. Alot of movies and games are based upon old books or poems or whatever.. It's bullcrap"..
Well... Is it?

What makes Dante's Inferno so exciting, and fast-paced, is the smooth combat system, with the 60fps constant flow. So your jumping from left to right, smashing at countless foes with a Scythe that's practically twice as large as Dante himself. Also the story teases you with small cutscenes constantly, to slowly give you an idea of what has happened in the past, and what is actually going on at the present. there are a few CGI's(Computer Generated Imagery) which are simply beautifully made, and really adds to the feeling of the game. Along with that comes the in-depth cartoony cutscenes, which only fits more than perfect. Along with that comes the very hyped action scenes, where everything is simply falling apart, and you have to get the **** outta' there! You also have slowmotion scenes, and button-smashing boss kills and more! untop of all of the above, there's also some quite interesting artifacts for Dante to find. The "Search" for the artifacts feels rewarding, as they can really help you. Another note is, there's alot of nudity, violence and blood in this game.

The graphics aren't what you would expect from this generation of consoles, but it never bothered me much, as both the gameplay and the storyline pulls you right through.

I'd say atleast try the demo, and read a few other official, and unofficial reviews, and get a few aspects on it. I think it is a great game, and I honestly feel it's worth an 8.0, no less.
