Same DDR as always, but playlist requires rethinking.

It has that DDR feel. But then again, when has that been new?

Okay, so you wanna dance, but yet you utterly suck at it. So you think with a game like Dance Dance Revolution, you can become a dancing king.

Okay you know what, I tried, but I betcha everybody knows playing DDR Extreme won't really make you a better dancer.

But the game, which had stay the way it's been for awhile, is great. But that doesn't matter since the step-step-hold thing hasn't really changed since MAX2. Sure there's spiffy new menus and stuff but, you wanna dance.

And dancing really boils down to what's on the playlist. Since most of the features are nice, but don't really give in anything that distracts you from the mian object. Now then, what's on here....

321 Stars.......Jet World.....Janejana.....B4U.......Tsugaru? Wasn't that in the last game?

Yasee, Konami thought it was a good idea to bring back songs from past games. Although this was what the arcade machine did and brought back ALL the songs from past versions, we're talking about the PS2, not that juggernaut of an arcade game. So why waste the disk space on songs we should just buy the separate games for? I mean, if we can't enjoy the full fun of the arcade machine, why bother?

Because Konami wants you to pass out at home. That's what these games do best. But yet, I have some questions with the playlist.

For some reason there seems to be american/european songs to, for one reason or another, interest some gamers in buying it. WTF? They list these songs and only these songs on the back of the box, leaving you completely in the dark on what more interesting songs have been ported from the arcade. 321 Stars? No. Tsugaru? Not on the back either. B4U? Pardon? I didn't see that. I mean why waste the cover for all the songs Americans might know about? Is it like they have to listen to music from their own culture?

Another problem, is that several great songs from the Extreme mix is, well, missing. That could've replaced songs like Don't Clock Me and You're Not Here. Who wants to dance to those songs? Whatever happened to A? Across the Nightmare? Sync? Sure, it's virtually impossible to not buy more games to enjoy more content, but dammit, I want a best of DDR.

Okay so sure, the playlist is requiring some major debug, but let's look to the other features, like the party mode. Unfortinaly, this mode completely focuses on you having that little camera thing. And only offers you 2 games to play with the dancepad. Which is a major disappointment to me.

And mission mode, is just simply scenario time. It's interesting at all, but the later missions uses effects to make songs difficult. Which, for me, was not welcomed.

Seriously, I want a best of DDR. It's just that these songs, although fun at first, only about a 2/3 of the playlist I wanted to step on again willingly.

And Paranoia Survivor MAX? Yeah, good luck doing Heavy without that bar behind you.

So basically, the playlist will satisfy some, but a DDR game relies solely on the playlist. And the playlist requires alot of rethinking because how many DDR games we need to buy? Can't we just get one that has songs everybody likes? Until then, if you want more, why don't you just stick to the arcade DDR extreme?
