I am really disappointed with this game, after having immensely enjoyed both Crysis and Crysis 2. This really is very mundane gaming. Yes, it looks incredible, but there are no stand-out set-piece battles and a real lack of excitement and tension. Using the bow is really nothing ground-breaking, it's pretty much like the crossbow was in Half-Life 2 nearly 10 years ago. You spend an inordinate amount of time taking down generic cell guards, who again very closely resemble the Combine guards in HL2, and also are incredible easy to outwit. It gets a little more interesting towards the end when you face off with the Ceph again but what is left of a very patchy and fragmented story-line is pretty nonsensical. The dialogue is stilted and strange, and even the return of the series' most interesting character in Psycho can't save it from sounding utterly ridiculous at times. It doesn't feel like the conclusion of a trilogy it feels like Crytek just wanted a vehicle to demonstrate what their engine is capable of. I'd be more excited if they paid more attention to the story line and gameplay than how realistic the foliage and water looks. A real missed opportunity here to round off a great series, it's a disappointing sequel to two of my favourite games.
I already had that feeling ever since they announced the title would be released around 2013. I was like "damn, that's... too fast" and then gets the feel that Crysis is becoming to be like any other games. A yearly / 2 ... Read Full Review
