Crysis 2 offers linear gameplay with scripted events all over the place. You dont play the game, the game plays you.

The release of Crysis 2 was a mess on the PC. It was an obvious console port and the options had been maximum limited. This game was obviously meant to make console gamers crap their pants with Cryteks graphical technology. They had already made PC players crap their pants from Crysis 1 so now it was the console gamers turn. In this case the cryengine 3 got way more limited than cryengine 2. Which means worse graphics, less dynamic stuff and less destructible environments. Put Cryengine 2 on a console and it would blow up, so crytek had to tweak the engine to be less productive but still look great. This is a huge disappointment for PC players. Lets just face the fact, Crysis only got famous for its incredible graphics! Thats the main reason people bought it.
The game itself is so linear and scripted its like youre playing a theater. You stand there on the stage looking like a fool while everybody around you (on the same stage) jump around and do their stuff from their manuscript and push you aside everytime you stand in their way. Thats how the whole game felt for me. You do your shooting in the most linear corridors and areas until you come to the next scripted event. You cant shoot, you cant talk, the game waits for you until you stand in the exact spot it want you to stand so it can continue. And the story is so abysmal i didnt even know the purpose of the whole thing. It felt like i was playing a cod campaign. Its just there for a reason so you can shoot stuff. And yeah it felt like a cod game with nanosuits. I played through the entire game just to see if at least the ending was any good but no i was wrong. No huge bossbattle just another scripted event with "push that button or you die". Man these developers have to realise that not everything cod does is good. Make something of your own for fick sake!
I cant recommend this game to anyone except people who like to shoot alot.
