A game for cricket lovers and haters

Overall EA have done a very job on putting the gentlemen's game on the PS2. People will criticise this game and say its too easy, its not realistic etc and this is true but its still a good game and for making a cricket game EA has my greatest sympathies, because cricket is a game that can be played over a period of days (test) it has to be one of the hardest sports to make a game of but EA doesn't force the player to play hours of defensive tactical cricket instead it offers a slog fest which is very fun and can produce realistic results. The century stick control is very good and gives you full control of your shots although sometimes the wrong shots can be played if you haven't pushed the right analogue stick in the direction you wish accurately, but the century stick seems to be the best type of control for a cricket game. Also the amounts of shots that can be played is amazing. The bowling has been improved and the ball now travels a lot faster if you’re a fast bowler than when you’re a spin bowler, which adds to the realism. Also there are many modes in the game including world tour, English domestic season, Australian domestic season 20/20 cup and many more. The ashes mode is very impressive and the scenarios provide a different type of experience in the game. The create a player mode is much better than in other EA games mostly due to the selection of licensed bats but still much is required from EA in this mode. The teams are all fully licensed which is impressive. The BGM is good and generally is the commentary, but is does get a bit annoying when the commentators keep saying,"that is maximum" every time you get a 4 or a 6. Overall it appears EA put a lot of effort into this game and even if you’re not a great fan of cricket this is still a game you should soon play.
