A solid release by EA Sports, but could have been better

User Rating: 8 | Cricket 07 PS2
Well another year, another EA Cricket game. Cricket 07 is a solid release in the genre of cricket games, but yet again there have been a few minor problems that have let this game down.

First off the batting. It's far to easy. You really shouldn't be able to hit a six off of every ball of the over so easily. It's not a rare occurance to see a one day international with a score of 6 for 1200, and thats on one of the harder difficulties. If you set aside the fact that you can very easily slog every delivery over the fence, and just try to play the gaps in the field and act as if it was a real game of cricket, then you will have a lot of fun batting.

The bowling. For starters its a bit touchy. At first I thought I was having problems with my controller, but after playing with several controllers on several PS2's, the problem with some deliveries is that they will suddenly jerk to one side and you will see yourself bowling an uncalled for incredibly wide delivery. Apart from that, I didn't really find any major problems with the bowling, although its not as fun as batting.

Overall. A solid release from EA. I enjoyed the commentry from Mark Nicholas and Richie Benaud (I don't know if it varies in other countries, but I have the Aussie version), but it did get a tad repetitive.

I recommend this game for anyone who is a fan of cricket
