The end of a great trilogy.

User Rating: 9.5 | Crash Bandicoot 3: Buttobi! Sekai Isshuu (PSOne Books) PS
This is the last platformer Naughty Dog made for Crash Bandicoot, and just like Crash Bandicoot and Crash Bandicoot 2 before it, it is a wonderful game.

Gameplay,10. The concept is about the same as last time. You're in a warp room and you have to complete all 5 warp rooms. Technicially it's all one big warp room and you have to complete some towers that branch off from the center but its still the same thing. You still have to find the crystals and there are stll gems to be found, but there is a new thing you can get now, the relic. You can't get the relic the first time you complete a level. After you complete the level and get the crystal you can go back to the level and at the start of the level there will be this golden clock in front of you, touch the clock and the timer will start, most of the boxes will dissappear and the remaining ones will be replaced by some gold colored boxes with a 1,2, or 3 on them. Depending on the number on the box when you brake it the timer will stop for that amount of time. If you can get to the end of the level fast enough you will get a relic. There are 3 kinds: sapphire, gold, and platinum. Sapphire is the easiest to get and platinum is the hardest.
In some levels you can use Coco. You don't really play as her, you just use her in vehicles.
Another new thing are the abilities you earn after beating a boss. You need these abilities after this boss which makes the levels more interesting.
The game plays flawlessly. Every level is fresh, interesting, and pretty much fun except for the airplane levels.

Graphics,10. The graphics for their time didn't get any better than this. Every level is designed quite nicely. It's nice to see some new kinds of levels instead of the same themes from the last 2 games. The characters look a lot better than last time, especially cortex.

Sound, 9. The sound is near perfect. The music for the different level themes matches the level perfectly and still retains that Crash Bandicoot feel. The voice acting is pretty good too. Aku Aku talks this time around and characters mouth motions match what they are saying.

Value, 10. This game will last you a long time. After you complete the 25 levels in the 5 warp rooms and get their crystals, you still have to get the gems to complete the game 100%. You also need the relics not only to complete the game 100% but to get the extra warproom with the 3 extra levels and the scret areas of 2 other levels. Then you need the gems for those extra levels.

Difficulty, just right. The difficulty is good. The levels get hard where you would expect them to get hard. The bosses are much harder on this game, even the first boss might give you a hard time if you're not careful.

Tilt, 9. Personally I love the game. It is the last great Crash Bandicoot platformer and anyone who likes Crash Bandicoot but somehow has not played this one needs to get it.
