I knew nothing of Crackdown before I bought the game, "I wont lie", to obtain the Halo 3 Beta key. That said I was pleasantly surprised on the the "Fun Factor" of the game.

Similar to the sandbox style Grand Theft Auto series Crackdown has its own Metropolis, tons of vehicles, weapons and citizens you can roam and wreak havoc on. Set in the Fictional Pacific City you play as genetically engineered super Agent cleaning up the streets of gang members. You start with moderate strength, speed and jumping ability. As you progress through the game you are able to lift and throw cars jump from building roof tops and and increase your foot speed. You are also equipped with state of the art weapons and vehicles.

All that said Crackdown does not compare with the depth of Grand Theft Auto. There is little to no interaction with A.I. citizens roaming the streets which does not allow many sub missions away from the main story. I found myself using the vehicles less when I was able to jump from building to building which...lol is very entertaining! The story is very repetitive and the only thing that keeps it fresh is the ability to chose which gang locations to attack in Pacific City.

All in all, if you are looking for an in-depth "Grand Theft Auto" type game Crackdown in my opinion does not provide that. However, if you want a fun, entertaining, and love to blow things up then this game is just right.
