The rightful king of multiplayer

User Rating: 9 | Half-Life: Counter-Strike PC
1. Gameplay – Well I don't think that there will be anyone who won't have played this game. But for those who have been living on Mars all along, the game features 2 teams – Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists, each consisting of an equal number of players. The game itself is best played on multiplayer. The game consists of a number of rounds, generally 3. The terrorists have a single objective – place a bomb in one of the various areas in the map, while the CT (Counter-Terrorists) are supposed to find the bomb and diffuse it before it goes off. The terrorists can alternatively kill all CT personnel to win the round. The CT can do the same. However, if the Terrorists have placed a bomb before all kicking the bucket, the CT will still have to find and diffuse the bomb in time to win the round; else the dead terrorists win the round. Following each round, the winning team obtains a certain sum of money equally distributed amongst each other. The players can buy equipment, ammo and weapons at the starting location with the money. The game is most notable for the elements of cooperative team play that lay a founding stone in modern coop multiplayer games. With a large number of maps to play from, the game itself never gets old.

2. Story – Err. Sorry no story.

3. Graphics – With a great gameplay, it is easy to forget that the game that actually made Counter Strike a possibility was Half Life. The engine that drove Half Life was the same engine that has been driving this marvelous game since its inception. With an average graphics for the day, the game simply runs on its gameplay and multiplayer experience.

4. Sound and Music – The music is pretty much nonexistent in the game, except at the starting menu. Beyond that, the music is hardly worth it. The sound effects are pretty good. All in all, the gameplay is adequately supplemented by the great sound effects
