A fun game that still plays well.

There's nothing better than finding an old game somewhere and having one of those "oh! I remember that game!" kind of moments. And so it is with this game. I played this at a friends house a few times and it was always fun. The story was, as were most scrollers in those days, a fun and kind of kiddy storyline, but when you play it now it just adds to the charm. It has a different feel than say, Commander Keen, as combat is quite different and in some ways "old-school" ala Super Mario Bros. But when using bombs you have to think a little bit more compared to just shooting something though. The graphics are very well done for its time, heaps of different textures and landscapes etc make the game very very different. One minute you're in an ice cave, then you're in a futuristic world with hover pads etc, the world never gets boring. The only downside is the sound, the SFX are done through your PC Speaker. The music isn't, thankfully, its done through your speakers, but it seems rather strange that the SFX wouldn't be as well. But its only a small complaint compared to the game as a whole.
A great game that anyone can, and should, pick up and play.
