The version of this game i had was called Super Probector which i think was renamed for political reasons at the time LOL! :)

Hehe in ANYCASE it was fun the aspect of playing a robot running through missions blowing the crap out of your enemy with a gun with infinite ammo! :)

Seriously, for its time this game was very cool, lots of explosions, cool weaponary, Bosses were surprisngly cool too! Very inventive ideas for bosses i must say, and the level design was varied well.

I think everyone remembers the bike sequence from the Contra games, that was always a really cool level since you get attacked by a Airship...then you proceed to fly a helicopter by holding onto its missle, then fly the helipcopter's missle....crazy ass game! :)

But its things like this, the insanity of the ideas, cool explosive visuals that made you think: "Who cares about the plot, lets blow up stuff!!!"

And that you did in this game! Very cool game which i still think has a good replay value.

The two player option also made this game more enticing since you could re run the levels with a friend and there would be a plethora more enemies for you to massacre.

Difficulty wise its quite frustrating, especially near the end when you fight some inventive looking monsters.

Thats another good aspect of this game, the representation of the enemies was very good and disturbing. The Alien enviroments made them look EXTREMELY evil and very plague like...was very cool.

All in all, a very cool game for its time, probably the best Contra i have played.
