This is classic NES at it's best great for hardcore old-school gamers, but be warned if you have never played the old 8-bit NES game this sort of game may take you by suprise. I seem to remember this game being a whole lot easier. Maybe it's just father time smacking me around or th fact that I don't have my brother or any friends with me to go thru the levels or maybe it's the fact that I can't get that cheat code (up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a, start) to work on this version, lol. But it's still a lot of fun to run around and grab your weapons upgrades, disappointing when you lose them in a single shot, but hey that was the nature of the beast back then. For a scrolling platform this was defiantly a classic game. I remember logging countless hours on this bad boy, but yet I can not recall what the ending is like!? Go figure. It's still solid for the 8 bit generation if your old school like me you'll love it, if your experiencing this for the first time, I'm sure there will be mixed reactions. Just remember It's one hit kills and super short levels, and super short game so replay value is not too high unless your just nostalgic like me. It's simple straight forward game play, not much strategy this is what games were, not like the new gen consoles where stealth and strategy is a must. So be warned before you try this gem of a game, because it is your fathers Contra!!
