BEST geo-political simulator ever made, but still needs some tweaking. (2/18/10): Still more work to be

I love strategy and simulation games. I love geo-political games even more. The first such game I had was Political Tycoon. Though it wasn't on a grand scale the purpose was clear - use your political power to maintain the support of the people at home and abroad. But, one must also build a strong defense against any attackers - whether they be foreign or home-grown. And after all the other geo-political simulators out there - namely, Superpower 1 & 2, Diplomacy 1 & 2, Supreme Ruler 2010 & 2020 - this is by far the BEST simulator ever created for the power-hungry, political savvy gamers out there!

Let me say this: the game is definitely not made for the casual gamer. There's just so many tables, meetings and responsibilities one has to do that can't be done in just a sit-in. And if you think you can just start a war like in the other simulators think again! Like any politician, you have to slowly strategize and lay out the plan carefully so win the peoples' (United Nations, NATO) opinion. And how will you pay for the war? Cutting, increasing and/or creating taxes may have a positive or negative effect - which may lead to civil unrest amongst your population! But after having several meetings with party leaders and members, who knows, you may just get what you want after all.

Now, this game was said to be released today to coincide with the start of a new gent entering the White House. Fortunately, or, more accurately, as fate would have it, I was able to locate a copy in the mall. And over the past 10 hours I have played NON-STOP (thank god for the laptop!) However there are some things that need to be fine-tuned. The graphics could definitely be improved to some degree. And the map is always flat, which does suck, as I preferred it to be like a globe (NOTE: the map does turn into a globe when looking at statistical information on the map) Also, I believe it could be a bit more customized. For example, I would just like to have the option to choose my party like in SP2 rather than just take the lead of the majority. Personally, I find it more fun when you can gain more seats when you were in the minority!

All-in-all, this game is the highlight of political simulations. After a patch or two I could see it being even more than what many of you out there thought it to be. So after watching the inauguration today, seeing a man who a couple of years ago was just a spec on the international stage, take his oath of office, go out and by this game! And take your own oath - to RULE THE WORLD!!!

(yeah, I know the last part is corny!)
