Finally a Move in the RIGHT Direction for the Clock Tower Series

User Rating: 8.1 | Clock Tower 3 PS2
I am almost ashamed to admit that I paid full price for the Original Clock Tower, on the promise that it would be more scary then Silent Hill. Needless to say when I was finally finished with the pointing and clicking and running around area's from Hedgeclipper man, (Much like I did in Home Alone for SNES) I realized that I was lied to and this game was just horid. The second one game and went without any fanfare, Then I was walking through some store (Best Buy I think) and there ware part three for PS2, I thought to myself for this bargin basement price I can take it home and it will be something to laugh it, And then the Shock occured, This game is a TOTAL overhaul from the first one, I mean TOTAL. The gameplay has moved in a very Res Evil / Silent Hill sort of direction which is very good. Its a touch smoother then the early Res Evil games and your character is alot easier to control, The Storyline is just awesome, I may just simply be overwelmed by the HUGE leaps and bounds this series has taken in a forward direction but it was really well done, it was deep and had its share of twists and turns and really made me want to finish it. The Sound is again much improved it makes a huge leap to the survival horror style of game which really uses the sound and background noice to keep the gamer on edge something that the first part hardly did. Its still has the classic Clock Tower "Shock Scare" The Graphics have really been cleaned up, the cut scenes are great its has really moved toward the middle of the Res Evil series as far as graphics and FAR better in the cut scene and story department. I would be hard pressed to say spend the full 49.99 (69.99 CDN) on a game like this but I have seen it in the value bin at alot of the bigger gaming stores and at that price its a can't miss. -Z
