Not exactly a 'best seller' but it's worth a try.

I rented this game not thinking too much about it, just thought it might be fun after reading the summary on the back.

Basically, it's not hard to grasp the control concept. You control a driver & a warrior that protects your chariot from the back. That is unless you have a friend over of course. He could control one.

The game has okay graphics, & when I say okay I mean it's not good, but it's also not stab your eyes out with a fork bad. The sound is alright also, it has some great orchestral music that makes you feel more like you really are back in that time period. There is a downside to it though... the 2 people you have in your chariot shout phrases & taunts at the other opponents occasionally, which is understandable. But what I can't understand is why a medieval warrior would say "I am going to whoop your ass!" or "I'm going to knock the sh*t out of you!!" etc. etc.

Now, as for difficulty, I wouldn't say it's a challenge. At all. For one thing, the only two things that keep you from absolutely dusting your enemies in a race is the 'pace' feature. Which is a meter that tells you how hard you can push your horses at any given time. The other thing however is that the game, well, it cheats. If opponents are real far behind they will suddenly 'poof' up with you. Another couple of things that stop you from getting an easy win is that there are occasional tree branches or openings you have to duck to get through. Or, there are also boulders & avalanches they nonchalantly may collapse on you.

Overall, I would say this is a good buy for anywhere around 15-25 dollars. But then again, if you can find it I recommend that you rent it first. You never want to get stuck with something you don't exactly like.
