The game is perfect. But only half the world got to experience it...

Its a tuff conversation with your mates when discussing the best games out. They say Legend of Zelda, Soul Caliber, Monkey Island, Final Fantasy and so on, then you say Chrono Cross... They then look at you with confused faces and continue there conversations. The reason why is because we in Australia didn’t get this game, and many other countries didn't either. After I saw that this game got a 10 on Gamespot I wanted it immediately, to play this so-called "perfect" game. I spent months in shops looking for it, once again all I received were blank and confused faces when asking if they have a copy. I finally decided to get it from America, and also purchase a memory card that was able to change the format of the game (we have PAL in Aus, in America you guys have NTSC, this card was able to let us play your games =)) It has now been about a year or two since I played and finished it, and I haven't gone a day without thinking about it. The impact of the story and the stunning way it was told left me breathless. And those words should not be taken lightly when I say that I mean it. This is the only game I have ever played that made me shed some sort of emotion. It truly does make you feel your part of the game. From the minute you start you feel part of it with a nifty sort off dream sequence, and being the first thing you see in the game it leaves you lost for words. It’s not really a sequence as you have to play it. But as it’s the first thing in the game you'll have no idea what happening. And just as quick as it started it finishes with the death of a character at your hands. These sorts of immersion where they go to the extent of doing something like that is incredible. The gameplay is solid. It hasn't got random encounter battles its lets you choose who you want to fight and when. And on top of that you can retreat from basically any battle, including boss fights. So if your feeling overwhelmed just run the boss will make a crack about your cowardness and then come back later to finish him off. In my opinion this is the way rpg's are suppose to be made. It gives you the ability to do what you want without fearing the invisible enemies that may attack at any second. The only other notable series that has a chance of beating this game is "Final Fantasy", now what a coincidence that the same company that made Chrono Cross made Final Fantasy. SquareSoft clearly proves to us that they are the best at what they do, and not only do they prove it with this game but it just also slaughters the competition as well as their own rpgs. The graphics are perfect; fmv sequences are beautiful and will leave you strapped for words. Most proven in the opening sequence. The intro shows a montage of fmv sequences you will encounter all to the song "Time's Scar" (Chrono Cross’s main theme) It is a thing of beauty that if anything will make you want to reset your PS so you can watch it again. The sound blends in so well with the game it will make you shiver, its played with such intensity at certain scenes you will cannot help but be moved. Now clearly from what I’ve been writing you can see that I am huge fan off the game. That’s if you have been reading attentively.... If only one thing is certain in my life it’s that this game is perfect and the whole world should get the chance to experience it. From the incredible intro to the breathtakingly (sad = (...) amazing conclusion. This game will not leave your mind; it will be as big part a part of you as lets say.....education. It doesn’t matter where you live you should take every extent possible to acquire this game. It is incredible.
