After 20 years gathering dust, the flawless game despite its age has enough replayability to last despite the quirks.

User Rating: 7 | Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition NS

The good: The structure and gameplay remains intact, unlocking different endings can be a fun challenge, cutscenes and graphics has given an enhanced upgrade along with the music.

The bad: The game could use a tutorial for newcomers, it's not worth using classic graphics except for die hards, if you put up with how lengthy the game is, it's worthy of its time.

For the record, I have no recollection of this game and I always thought that certain unique games would remain in Japan. But in this time and age when you no longer have to rely on cartridges, discs and blu ray for its benefits, all it takes is downloading just to enjoy this game. Anyway, the successor to Chrono Trigger has gone a long way.

To keep spoilers to a minimum, Serge somehow encounters a mysterious alternate dimension in which he himself never existed, leading to alternate version between when he's still alive and when he's gone, what has changed? Kid (actually a girl) rescue you from an antagonist and that's as far as I can go.

The structure and gameplay remains intact. Combat involving percentages and now auto battle is including. As well as cancelling out random encounters for the impatient is a welcome addition. The best part just like Chrono Triggers is the new game plus. Using that allows you to try for different endings after completing the game for the first time. However, it would be nice to have a tutorial, should you get totally lost and forgot to figure out what to do next.

Graphically, the enhance graphics for high definition TVs work well. Especially on the Switch, no matter is it is docked or undocked. Musically, it's as memorable as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The replay is excellent if you can deal with how long this game lasts. Besides, unlocking different endings will take such a long time.

Games this special rarely comes as the Switch is building its library of games. This one is well recommended for people who haven't played it for so long, or previous Playstation owners want to relive the classics. Or for people who are new to this game. Despite its age, it's not worth writing off this game since it's special in its own right.
