This is one of my fav games ever. I've played through it countless times and I really don't see me stopping anytime soon. Yea I get caught up in the newer titles especially since I have an X-box 360, but every now and then I blow of the dust on some of my fav' disks and cart's of mine. The great animation just pops off the screen when playing this game. It still looks a lot better than the newer GBA titles out now. Sure it may not sound like a fair assessment but if you've ever played those GBA titles then you know how gorgeous they are and given the fact that the GBA games were made years after S.O.T.N. speaks volumes on how the supposed dated graphics still hold their own.
The sound is very solid. Every swing of the sword is tight and precise, the great sound effects brings great ambience to the title. Sure the voice acting sucks but....well......in what PS1 game don't they.
The music is what many would consider the benchmark of this title, as many fans of this game have it in they're cd collection and have for sometime. To me the music is the greatest compliment to this game. It really fleshes out the visuals, and help put you in the Castle right alongside Alucard.
Well if you couldn't tell I really like this game. If you have a chance it's def' worth Ebaying, or if you see it the used section at Gamestop, pick it up. You won't be disappointed. This game is a certified classic. In the long and illustrious line of Castlevania titles, this one is most def' best in series.
