One part twitch gaming, one part RPG...

User Rating: 9.7 | Akumajou Dracula: Circle of the Moon GBA
And one part arse-whooping, old-school glory. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon will appeal best to fans of classic 2-D platforming adventure, in the vein of Super Metroid. The castle to explore is vast in size, with secret nooks and crannies abound. Enemies give you a good run for your money, and especially in later game modes, force you to come up with unique strategies to take them down. The challenge level is high enough to keep you searching for that next DSS card, but not impossibly frustrating that you will toss your GBA through a window. Graphics are a mixed bag, with some awfully bland colours, but the sound is enough to make the purchase of a decent set of headphones worthwhile. Overall, an extremely worthwhile purchase, and possibly my favourite game on the GBA even to this date.
