It was the first on the GBA, and it is the best on handhelds to date.

Whips, demons, big bosses, and a giant castle. Sounds like a Castlevania game to me.
This game was released for the GBA in its infancy, and it has stood the test of time like a rock. Though the story has been removed from the series, that does not make it any less of a great game.
The game takes place in the 1800s, and instead of a Belmont, you play as Nathan Graves. Nathan is a student of the famed hunter, Morris Baldwin, and has been awarded the vampire killer due to his skills. Unfortunately, this makes Morris's son, Hugh, a wee bit jealous. Still, they approach Dracula together, and end up seperated as Dracula plans to regain his power.
In terms of gameplay, you know what to expect. The whip and subweapons are still present and accounted for, though the cross still stands out as the best. Like Symphony of the night, you can equip different armors to Nathan, as well as several accessories. The new thing here is the DSS system, which allows you to use cards to use different magic effects. The sound system sounds right, with the music appropriately creepy and engaging.
Graphicly, the game is pretty impressive. The characters look very cool in their pixelated form, and Nathan's small size makes you appreciate your accomplishments when you kill bosses. All in all, this is a game that will keep you hooked for quite some time. Enjoy it while it lasts.
