Good game, had potential to be great

User Rating: 8 | Casper PS
I've been playing Casper for PlayStation 1 trying to beat it for almost 15 years and still haven't gotten to the end (though I've come close). It's one of those games that you can easily log 6 hours a day and 5 of those hours were spent trying to find a door or gate that you opened in the first few minutes you started playing. The surroundings are pretty appealing, like the creepy attic and basement, and the interior is a good representation of the movie with the early 1900's furniture and decorations. Although it is a Psx classic and has decent gameplay and graphics (for a 90's psx game) it shouldn't be so difficult that a roomful of college students can't figure it out over the course of a year. If the game had a map to show which doors were open or locked, I feel it would be a much more relaxing play instead of having to rely solely on memory. Casper is a game which only those who have played before can appreciate someone beating, not like Call of Duty where millions of people play the story over and over again all the time. Casper is one of my all time favorites, but can also be the downfall of my patience, so I score this game 8/10.
