A decent Smash Bros. clone that's most fun with friends.

User Rating: 7.5 | Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion XL WII
Smash Bros. is a very popular series of fighting games featuring Nintendo's biggest stars in a 2D stage knocking opponents of the screen, and this has that same formula, but just... Cartoon Network-y.

The story is about the cartoon's villains teaming up, with our faithful narrator, Space Ghost, and characters from the shows team up to stop the villains.

The game has a large assortment of Cartoon Network characters. Classic shows from Dexter's Lab to Samurai Jack, and some newer shows from Chowder to Flapjack. Although there are some exceptions. The game seems to lack Ed, Edd, and Eddy and Courage the Cowardly Dog. Since they already have George Lowe, Space Ghost would've been a good addition. T.O.M. from the Toonami block is absent, but probably due to licensing issues.

The gameplay is pretty much Smash. Really fun. Especially with friends. It also has an adventure mode like Smash's Subspace Emissary. It's short, but keeps things varied.

Make no mistake, Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL is a really fun Smash Bros. clone that really appeals to fans of the shows. If you don't exactly know these shows that much or is playing by yourself, than I give it a 7.0. But if you at least have watched each of these shows and have a friend to play with, well, look at the top for that.
