A good collection of arcade classics!

User Rating: 8 | Capcom Classics Collection PS2
Capcom's collection of arcade classics is a great package for anyone who spent their time in the arcade back in the late 80's and early 90's! Most of the games (the ones i played and remember anyway...) are well emulated. Some people noted that the Street Fighter II games are not a perfect clone of the arcade but i didn't notice anything out of place.

The graphics depends on what game you are playing but... all in all, they look just as good as they did back in the day and are displayed correctly on the TV screen. Some games like Mercs are kinda streched since they used a unique screen size but it's not really bothersome.

The sound is somewhat muddied in some of the games... maybe that's how they sounded or it's just the emulation. The controls are mostly well maped on the PS2 controller and they are all easily changed. You have the option of changing certain settings in all of the games (difficulty level, number of lives etc..) and whatever you choose is saved for convenience. High scores are also saved as well. The menu system to navigate between games is simple but effective.

The replay value of this collection depends on how many games you consider classics, if half the games interest you it's a safe bet the price tag is worth it. Some of these games are really excellent when you play alongside a friend as well! Very good collection and i recommend it to anyone who's into this sort of stuff!
