I give it a perfect 10 not because I am blinded by the hype, but because this game actually gives value for the buck!
After playing Mw1, Mw2 and Black Opps, I can honestly say that this one is by far the best one in the series. Its not trying 2 hard like BO and not as limited as Mw1. The graphics are truly amazing. Playing it on my 40 inch Full HD tv from samsung it blows me away every time. I have played killzone 2, LBP, MGS, Uncharted 2 and even (PC) Crysis on maxed settings, yet, this one tops them all. You might disagree, and if so, you are welcome to wipe off your raging slobbers from the cooking brain of yours and just go with it. It's cool with me if you think otherwise.
Just as most people, I have finished the singleplayer campaign in one day (normal difficulty). Yes, it's short, but holy shnitzel is it polished. The action is so intense and fresh, I have actually enjoyed every single second of the game. The events are mostly region triggered, yet unlike in Killzone 2 they all come naturally with a tasty flavor of smoothness.
Ofcourse, you need to posses a pretty high level of shooter skills to actually enjoy the game. If you even slightly struggle with your controller, the experience will be just average. As for me, after spening 60+ online hours with mw1, i could probably beat the game using my left foot alone.
Now to the best part of the game, the Multiplayer. At the core you have a local split screen and coop missions that you can play with your buddies. I love a healthy dose of challenge, so beating those extra missions with friends on 3 stars, brought us together many evenings. Playing online in a party squad, consumed many hours of my life. After all that, only positive memories remain and that is whats the game is about, competitive challenge, teamwork and a lot of fun.
It is weird, but the game mechanics work sooo well, this game actually ruins every other shooter i am trying to enjoy (Killzone, Battlefield, CS, Crysis etc). The way you shoot, move, deal damage, impact effects, perks, interface, matchmaking... After playing Mw, it is almost impossible not to notice shortcoming from all other shooters. This is actually not a good thing, as it keeps me from enjoying many other great titles...
Overall, the singleplayer is short, multiplayer is not noob friendly, atmosphere is not relaxing or magic, but if you are committed and have enough strength to accept defeat from your lack of skill or luck, this is one of the few games that will reward you with countless hours of pleasure
