A great campaign and robust multiplayer offering make it definately worth a try

While it's depressing Ghosts doesn't take as many chances with it's campaign as Black Ops 2 did, it's still a very diverse campaign that while occasionally is on auto-pilot, it still takes you to a large number of locations with plenty of memorable moments along the way. From rappelling down a sky scraper amidst a bustling city at night, to a great underwater segment and even in space, there was no shortage of excitement to be found. I do really wish you could be able to customize your loadouts for campaign like you could in Black Ops 2 though. I play Call of Duty for their campaigns and while I wasn't as thrilled as I was with Black Ops 2, I was certainly not disappointed with what I was given either.

As for multiplayer, it is what it always has been. I've never played them too much but Ghosts online seemed to run a little better than Black Ops 2 and MW3's online did for me at launch. I did think the maps were too large and favored sniping a bit too much. The new co-op mode Extermination is quite fun and I found it far more enjoyable than the zombie mode thanks in large part to the aliens presenting challenging opponents unique to Call of Duty. The changes made to the survival mode were also great as it now supports 4 players and has ditched the currency system and instead gives players weapons and killstreaks more generously.

As for what I didn't like, the create a soldier mode is pathetic, you merely choose from a lackluster list of faces, clothing and gear that all looks lame. Also, the campaign centers around the Ghosts squad yet from what I saw there's no way to make a character with their look, why is that? Also, while the co-op modes were fun I really wish a campaign co-op would be available and you also can't customize a weapon and bring it into any of the co-op modes, if you can do it in multiplayer, why not in co-op? Still, Ghosts overall offers plenty to do from it's great campaign, co-op and multiplayer options, it's not a step forward in the series, instead, it has exactly what I want and expect from Call of Duty each year: fun.
