Best in series? No Better than the last two in the series? Definitely

User Rating: 8.5 | Call of Duty: Black Ops X360
Initially, I had some concern about playing or even buying this after the atrocity that was Modern Warfare 2 and the fact that Treyarch has disappointed me before. While it is still at its core the same game Call of Duty has been in the last few years, it has offered an improvement over the last couple.

Campaign- Although short, the story is very compelling to say the least. There are a few challenges in the story that can be completed in order to boost your xbox gamerscore. After beating the game on whatever difficulty you want, (Veteran gives you more points), go back on easy and complete the tasks to get more points. I can tell you escaping from Kowloon is not easy on veteran if you only use dual weapons.
Zombies- Haven't played much, but was rather amused when playing as JFK (unlocked after beating campaign, otherwise you just got a normal zombie mode).
Online- It is still the same game as before; but I don't find myself going into a match when the game is about to end and with some sort of rocket heading my way the second I enter the match anywhere near as often as I did in MW2. Secondly, the game doesn't seem to get as bad lag as MW2 as well. The matches seem more fair now. The killstreaks have been bogged down a bit and I am thankful for it. No more nukes, and not too many stupid rewards. The challenges are much better than they have been and I do enjoy playing this game online. The best addition to the online is combat training. If I am getting rusty, I can just go play some combat training to get back into the thick of things. I like the addition of playing split screen online as well
