Black Ops has some awesome new features, but lacks the "Quality" that makes it an epic game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops- Yet again another installment into the Call of Duty franchise Call of Duty: Black Ops has been hyped so much that some would wonder, "Does it really live up to the hype?"

Well no. This game is packed with new and awesome features but lacks in overall "quality" that it's predecessors had. As many would know Black Ops uses the same engine as Call of Duty: World at War. That meaning, is that the graphics are inferior to the last game in the series and is a step backwards. This though is not something to worry about as the game still performs well. Many things in the game are fun and interesting, such as the new wager match game modes for multi-player, which add a new feel and intensity to the game and give you the satisfaction of taking someone else's money.

Kill Streaks are over powered. Even though they made Kill streaks not stack( Kills with kill streak reward don't count to your next kill streak reward), which makes the game take more gun skill to earn your rewards. It does still get you kills, you get a chopper gunner and the enemy are screwed, most of the time all you have to do is tap the trigger at the enemy and they die instantly.

A lot of the time, the game seems to have horrible hit detection, sometimes you'll fire an entire clip of your sub-machine gun and get one or no hit markers on the other player. This can be very frustrating as they turn around and peg you with 3 or 4 shots and your down.

The spawning in this game, don't get me started, in game modes such as team death-match you spawn and run 5 or 10 steps and get shot from behind, because the enemy has started spawning where you just spawned. The spawn system is one of the worst I've ever seen, and it can make the game quite frustrating.

Though this game does have many flaws it still has many things great about it, such as the cod points system, the new emblem maker, theater mode and the ability to put your emblem and clan tag on your gun.

The cod points system is cool, but the game focus's so much on you buying everything, that you soon loose any sense of accomplishment and it cause the unlocking system to be rather, dull. The challenge system no longer rewards you with "free" titles or unlocks. So that too looses any point. The new emblem maker is cool but is strictly limited as you can only use pre made emblems and combine them to make something else, it would have been cool if the editor allowed you to make your own emblem from scratch.

Theater mode is cool and great for sharing or reviewing yours or others game play within your console or PC. One problem with theater is that you are only able to upload 30 second segments to their website and then to YouTube. Which removes the possibility of uploading full game plays and making commentaries with out the need of a capture card. Which kind of sucks. It also only uploads the poorest quality videos you can get and doesn't give the option for a higher quality.

In conclusion I state that with many flaws, the great and new things just aren't enough to make this a truly epic experience. With further patches, it might be possible to fix many bugs or things wrong with the game, but as for now it scratches the near minimum for a decent game. Compared to MW2 this pails in comparison in terms of graphics, sound design and that feeling that you've achieved something great.Though MW2 was great it also had flaws that kept it from being that epic game. They got many things right with Black Ops but created many things that just make the game "decent".

This is my opinion of the game and i am not a MW2 fan boy, I just used MW2 it for arguments sake

(Hope you give this game a second thought before rushing in and buying it. If you don't buy it try dabble in other genres or other fps games, as there is more than CoD in the world of gaming and many great titles out there.)

Thanks, Peace :)
