I am not a fan of the First-Person Shooter genre. For me I could never get into it. But, seeing as how well this game was doing as far as kudos and reviews were concerned I'd have been a fool to not give this game a chance. I am happy to report and I have no regrets on my decision and that I now embrace the FPS genre.

Activision/Infinity Ward have crafted a true masterpiece in every sense of the word. From the intro training mission to the first mission aboard a cargo ship I was feeling as though I was in the game! especially the part where the cargo ship starts to sink and you have to get the heck out of there and how the action on screen tilts to the side. Also, as you get thrown into the car and you're able to look around your war torn surroundings you get the feeling that there is a powder keg just waiting for the match. Also, at the end of the car ride is a trip in itself.

The campaign is great but, a little on the short side. It packs alot of punch as far as the weapons (and there are alot of them) are concerned and graphics and sound effects really put you in the game. I also like how you switch between the USMC and the SAS (gives you a different perspective) as "Soap" Mctavish (SAS) and Sergeant Paul Jackson (USMC)

My favorite mission though (and to me it's one of the best missions in any type of game) is the "All Gillied Up" mission. It's essentially a flashback mission and it involves two snipers. I cannot begin to tell you how intense this mission is and that I do hope you experience this for yourself. To say it was well done is an understatement. INTENSE!!

Another mission is seen through the eyes of a bomber plane gunner and I found it to be very interesting as you see blinking targets running across the field, picking your caliber of your weapon and blowing them up and everything in their radius without them having a chance at all. The mission and commentary is genius.

Also, I don't want to give it away but, there is another mission I'd never thought I'd see in a game but, I'll just say the things you are an attendant to is up in the air. A nice surprise and I really enjoyed it.

The mulitiplayer aspect of the game is fun as well. I get owned alot but, there are moments I do well. It really doesn't matter because it's all in good fun as you rise up in the ranks. It really keeps the game HIGHLY replayable after the campaign mode is over.

FINAL VERDICT: Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare made me a fan of the FPS genre on the PS3. To me I think it's the best FPS ever made and is definetely a game that deserves every award it receives. You get a great single-player experience, involving multiplayer with many different tweaks and unlockables, DLC, and alot of bang (pun intended) for your buck. There is no excuse not to have this game in your collection.

Put it to you this way: I HAD to sell this game at one point due to financial reasons but, as soon as I was able to I bought this game again--the game-of-the-year edition but, didn't get the goty edition content. I didn't care. As long as I owned this gem of a game that's all that mattered. Trust me it's a keeper. I highly recommend you answer THIS Call Of Duty.
