COD 4: Modern Warfare is one of the most remarkable war games to have ever hit the PC screens.
And did the game actually stand true to its predecessors?

Story
The Modern warfare is really gripping and its one of the only COD which focuses so much on its storytelling rather than just hardcore action. We play as multiple people through the game, from a newly recruited commando to a veteran officer, all of which have their own level of detail and background story to them. On the whole, the game is pretty intense with its story and you are constantly wondering what's going to happen next.
Gameplay
The gameplay is superb with its perfect blend of shooting, sniping, chases and lots more. Throughout the game, you are thrown into different missions each of which have a set of tasks to complete. Also these are not just tasks, but add to the grim story of the game and so you actually feel for the characters as you advance through. The sniping mission which lets you play as Cpt. Macmillan as one of the finest ones you will come across. Imagine having to crawl through dense bushes in a camouflage with enemies patrolling right beside you. It's sort of creepy.
There are some missions which also put you inside a chopper and you have to do the shooting. It's intense. Guns also add to the realism in the game and you can have a minimum number of weapons at a particular point in time.
Gameplay on the whole, is pretty neat and fine and adds to the already intense theme of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Graphics
Pure Brilliance. Graphics are simply stunning and each of the mission/level is presented in high detail adding to the atmosphere of a war stricken world. Character animations are also amazingly done.
Sound
Sound is one department where COD never fails, and this one is no exception. The voice acting, the raging sounds of gunfire as you run your way across the battlefield, enemy taunts, cutscenes all have a brilliant mix of its sound effects.
Overall, the Call of Duty Modern Warfare is one of the finest war games I have ever played and one should not miss this one at any cost.
